On Holiday

Tonto Savalas has released their 14th album today, Tonto Savalas On Holiday. Hope you all enjoy it. It's been two and half years since our last release, so we decided to make it a double album. Double the fun, double the love, double the Tonto! We hear that the Buddha All-Stars are also currently working on a new album, although your guess is as good as mine on the timeline for that. Fever Dream

Ignore my previous suggestions of when the next albums will be. I've proven time and again that my estimates are not to be taken seriously. With that being said, Buddha All-Stars have completed their 8th album, Fever Dream. TAR

Well it was just under 20 years between Ruben, Where Are You? and Rockstar Skinmask. It will be just under 2 months between Rockstar Skinmask and TAR. Rockstar Skinmask

So we haven't made a post in almost 13 years. So we posted that the album would be done soon on 6-25-2008. Sorry sometimes genius takes time to ferment. Tonto Savalas has completed their 12th album Rockstar Skinmask on March 25th, 2022. The last Tonto album, "Ruben, Where Are You?" was released on November 15th, 2002. Nice job taking almost 20 years to make a new album. Hopefully we won't have to wait as long for their next album, TAR.

The Scenic Route lyrics

So Jeff called me and asked me to send him the track titles to "The Scenic Route". I being a good friend checked for them when I got home. I had them in many places but not really in any good copy and paste settings. So I knew that at one point I had started writing out all the lyrics for the album, I figured I could just send him that file with the lyrics cut-out.

Well I of course looked at the file and decided, heck there's only 5 or 6 songs left to do, I'll finish it and send him the whole thing lyrics and all. Well it's now 5 or 6 hours later. I have 18 different notebooks and folders open all over the place, headphones, and notes galore lying around. I have picture programs open with scans of notes, a media player filled with songs, and Audacity pushing the boundaries of my computer.

All this to finish writing out the lyrics to the last 5 or 6 songs. Well at least I finished (two and half years after the album came out). And because he caused me so much unintentional insanity, I'm not even going to send it to Jeff. I'm going to post it here and force him and the rest of you to behold these words of wisdom and truth. Original member of Tonto Savalas and founding member of the Buddha All-Stars, Scott Lozon, has released his second solo album, Twice on 11-25-09. The album is a collection of cover songs including songs by: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Syd Barrett, John Frusciante, The Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, Beck, The Beach Boys and many more. This is Scotts' first solo album in ten years, when asked about the long wait Scott replied, "I was busy". Check your local Black Friday ads to find it in nearby stores.

End Of An Era

I've been meaning to do this for weeks, but sometimes you put off dealing with the passing of an old friend. As of Oct. 26, 2009 the main Tonto and Buddha website, the Phantasmagoric one on Geocities, will cease to exist. I suppose I could pay the nominal fee to keep it alive, but why bother when this and many other sites are still free. Still when the end comes it will be a sad day for me, it was my first website, the bands first website, and has been up and running for almost ten years. It hosted band member surveys, band newsletters, the first 7 stories of the aborted Drowning Into Darkness book, song reviews from garageband, album info, pics, links to the many Buddha/Tonto/Archer websites, and much much more.

So I have posted the album list and comments from the site here directly below this post. I have also update the links on this page and added some of the pics from the vault.

As for anything new who knows someday maybe.
